About My Clients
My clients are invested in creating a lasting therapeutic relationship that will provide them with the support they need through the successes and challenges in their recovery journeys. They practice bravery through honesty and transparency, and are invested in long-term healing to achieve a more authentic and empowered life. My clients are diverse in age (20s-80s), gender, cultural background, religious orientation, identity presentation, body type, and co-occurring mental health concerns.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed counselor specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and addiction. My journey to find the job I love is one less traditional. I hold undergraduate degrees in Global Business and German. After working at a Fortune 500 company for 5 years, I made the decision to follow my heart and pursue my passion. I received a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and obtained training and clinical experience treating eating disorders, addictions, co-occurring disorders, and a variety of mental health issues for diverse populations. It is incredibly important to individualize care, so I lean heavily on my clients' needs to determine which interventions and approaches I use in the healing process. Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size are approaches I use heavily in eating disorder recovery, and frequently incorporate CBT, mindfulness, DBT, and Internal Family Systems in the treatment of eating disorders, addiction, trauma and co-occurring disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to providing individual counseling, my passion for eating disorder recovery has resulted in 6 years on the board of a local non-profit, Columbia River Eating Disorder Network, hosting a consultation group for ED-informed providers in Vancouver, and providing education and consultation on the topic of eating disorders, co-occurring disorders, Intuitive Eating, and Health At Every Size.
