About My Clients
I love working with all sorts of clients, but the types of clients I best work with, & find I also have the easiest time establish a therapeutic rapport with, primarily include: men in general, young adults (roughly 14-30 years old), people trying to find their way in life, brave souls trying to work through difficult traumas, neurodivergent individuals, as well as those of us who would be considered nerds or geeks. Additionally, if you fit any combination of the types listed, thats even better!
My Background and Approach
In my 10+ year career across almost all levels of care, as well as a wide range of treatment focuses, I have gotten the unique opportunity to learn a diverse therapeutic skill set for both individual & group therapy that lets me meet my clients where they are at in life, and be a guide on the side for them to help them move toward the goals and values that mean the most to them. Two of the tools I use often to accomplish this include Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), which are both evidence-based approaches to treatment that help my clients make meaningful progress in their therapeutic work with me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My primary personal beliefs are that I should extend compassion, empathy, patience, & understanding to the people I encounter in my life. With that being said, I also try very hard to remain aware that I belong to a number of different privileged/entitled groups in society, so I also work to maintain a open & respectful mindset/heart that attempts to learn from my interactions with those around me, especially those who are different from myself. I try to bring that same mindset & energy into the therapy room as well, meeting my clients where they're at, recognizing that they are most definitely the experts on themselves, but hope that they will allow me to be the "guide on the side" to help them navigate forward in service of their fulfillment & personal values.
