About My Clients
If you feel like you SHOULD be in therapy but may not really WANT to be in therapy- you're probably on the right profile. I work well with those that are more avoidant on the attachment scale: you likely avoid conflict and disregard your needs or wants to try to keep relationships going. Or you can get stuck in your head and have difficulty knowing how to connect in the ways that you want to. I offer a warm, trusting (with time) relationship to help you heal.
My Background and Approach
Attachment theory is my bread and butter and I've been practicing out of this theory and watching my clients earn Secure attachment for over a decade. I believe that historical research into your early life and past relationships, as well as exploring present responses and connections can lead to more choice and agency in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that our mental health (or lack there of) is a mixture of our past, our parent's past (generational trauma!), AND the impact of the current stressors. And so, sitting with these areas and exploring how they impact you gives you the freedom to CHOOSE how they will impact you in the future. I think that every therapist should have an extensive amount of their own therapy and be advocates for balance and wellness in our field and not just for our clients (but there too!) And I believe that we don't deserve dogs but since we are graced with their presence we should treat them like the royalty that they are!
