About My Clients

Have you been afraid to reveal the real you because of societal, cultural and family expectations. Have you felt that your life is not your own and you are living for others to avoid rejection and feelings of isolation. You are not alone. Many individuals struggle with varying emotions related to trying to live up to the expectations of others. Let's walk this journey together by allowing me to teach you the tools needed to unveil your true authentic self.

My Background and Approach

For the past 17 years I have focused on helping various individuals travel through this journey of life with lessening pain. My background in mental health and substance use has taught me that human beings are more alike than different no matter what path we travel or where we originate from. The burden of trying to fit in and please others leads to regrets and pain. I will work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. I have attended many trainings and workshops that have taught evidenced based practices approaches. My focus of treatment has and always will be person centered with an unconditional positive regard for the human spirit. I will always encourage and support your true authentic self, while teaching you strategies in combating negative self talk through mindful based living.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity to change and grow during life's journey. The real question is does everyone have the willingness to do so which requires consistency and daily work. Mental health is a continuum and everyone at some point in their life experiences emotional dysregulation that impacts perception of self and relationships. Mental health is a combination of neurochemistry, exposure to events, sensory perception and learned behaviors. How we see ourselves, effects how we feel about ourselves which leads to congruent behavioral responses. As a child, I always felt different as if I did not fit in or belong and I suffered severe anxiety and panic attacks. Through my own therapy and support, I learned self worth and self acceptance and the importance of being true to myself. I learned to manage my anxiety and in so doing discovered the rewards of helping others. If you want to learn more about how I can help, please message me through HEADWAY.
