About My Clients

Many of the people I work with are difficult to put into any category. They may be navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, family challenges, chronic stress, life transitions, or neurodivergence. They may have felt misunderstood, overwhelmed, or like their experiences do not fit simple explanations. I work with people seeking more than quick fixes — people looking for understanding, connection, and a path forward that fits who they are.

My Background and Approach

Healing does not happen in isolation. It happens in community, in relationship, and in family — including chosen family. In nearly 25 years of working with children, adults, and families — including in community and home-based settings — being invited into people’s everyday lives has taught me that every person’s story is shaped by their experiences, relationships, and circumstances. My work is collaborative, individualized, and relationship-based. I believe you are the expert of your own life. Therapy provides a place to understand your experiences, discover your strengths, build skills, and create meaningful change. I draw from trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, play therapy, family therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, and other approaches depending on what fits each person. I believe therapy often begins with survival — finding safety, stability, and ways to cope — and can move toward healing, growth, stronger connections, and a life where you thrive.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, curiosity, and respect. Therapy should be a place where you can explore your experiences, identity, values, and beliefs without fear of judgment. Throughout my career, I have been honored to be welcomed into people’s homes and lives. I have sat around kitchen tables with families who did not look like me, sound like me, or share my experiences. Those moments taught me the importance of listening first, staying curious, and understanding each person’s story rather than making assumptions. I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and welcome clients across diverse identities and backgrounds. I value humility, openness, compassion, and continued growth. My years in animal rescue and advocacy have strengthened my commitment to compassion, connection, and caring for those who depend on us.
