About My Clients
I work best with adults, especially women, who are navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship stress, or the lingering impact of difficult family experiences. My style is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and LGBTQ+ affirming. I’m a good fit for people who want to better understand themselves, heal old patterns, and feel more grounded in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation and have many years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship stress, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult family experiences. My background includes outpatient therapy, inpatient psychiatry, trauma-informed care, and mind-body approaches to healing. I draw from evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches, including DBT, ACT, mindfulness, parts work, psychodynamic therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist, which informs my understanding of how stress and trauma live not only in our thoughts, but also in the nervous system and body. My work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and respect for the complexity of each person’s story. Together, we can explore what has shaped you, what keeps you feeling stuck, and what might help you feel more grounded and at home in yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a place where people feel respected, understood, and free to bring the fullness of who they are. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating a welcoming space for clients of diverse identities, backgrounds, relationships, and family structures. I value social justice, emotional honesty, creativity, and the healing power of connection. My work is also influenced by contemplative traditions, yoga philosophy, mindfulness, and compassion-based practices, while always honoring each client’s own beliefs and worldview. Outside of my work as a therapist, I find meaning in painting, reading, yoga, time with loved ones, and the quiet companionship of animals. These parts of my life remind me that healing is not only about reducing symptoms, but also about reclaiming softness, joy, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
