About My Clients
I work with adults and families to address a variety of mental health concerns, including interpersonal conflict, traumatic experiences, life transitions, parenting skills, identity exploration, gender-related issues, and sexuality.
My Background and Approach
I have over ten years of experience in the mental health field and 5 years of experience as a mental health therapist. I provide telemental health counseling, or “online counseling,” to adults with a broad spectrum of concerns, including parenting, relationships, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I specialize in working with parents, young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ population. I take an integrative approach to therapy, accounting for various factors that may contribute to suffering such as environment, learned behaviors, values, biology, society, development, chemistry, culture, systems, and personal narrative. Integrating theories and interventions allows me to help each client create a unique plan for treatment to address individual needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs lie strongly in the Unitarian Universalist fist two principles: I affirm and promote (1) the inherent worth and dignity of every person and (2) justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. These beliefs are evident in my therapy work as well as my volunteer work within my community. I work actively with my local LGBTQ+ community to champion inclusion and representation by volunteering with PFLAG of Tupelo, The Pride Resource Center of North Mississippi, and Tupelo Pride. I'm an advocate for racial justice and equity and fully support the Black Lives Matter movement. I'm also an animal lover and often know my neighbor's dogs and cats better than I know my actual human neighbors.
