About My Clients
If you have experienced childhood trauma that may be getting in the way of satisfying, meaningful connections with others, I am interested in meeting you. If the word "abandonment" fits a lifelong pattern of relationships of some kind or all kinds, I'd like to support you. If you feel disconnected from your body or yourself for any reason and wish there was a non-judgmental and hopeful space in which to gradually meet yourself, I'd like to hold that space for you and give you that nurturing.
My Background and Approach
I have a long history of various community-based non-profit social work since finishing undergrad in 1997. As a slowly progressing, ADHD-style paperwork avoider, I'm still here because I just want to support humans to be the best version of themselves that they can be and help them to feel content about that. I've trained in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy in Los Angeles and in Portland continued my Gestalt studies. I got the Post Graduate Certificate in Foster and Adoptive Family Therapy and it's been a valuable set of specialized knowledge for my adult clients. I'm here for adults and children recovering from childhood trauma, divorce, grief and loss, and abandonment struggles that can bring a person to their knees. I integrate yoga and Buddhist concepts if folks are open to those sweet, effective practices. I try to be gentle and direct, funny and nurturing, firm and loving.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All humans are welcome here. I am human, and I'm messy at times. I want to welcome you all, exactly as you are. We have more in common than we have differences. I seek to provide safety, security and stability, all while being imperfect and well-meaning in every moment. I have a snuggly dog that likes to join us if you would like that. She is flawed, too, making us all a perfect match. My schedule is full at the moment (March 2023). Things can shift unexpectedly, so feel free to reach out.
