Living with depression can be immobilizing. It prevents us from doing the things we want, enjoying life and impedes on our relationships. Feeling this way every day is exhausting and also very frightening. Perhaps it's difficult to get out of bed every day, go to work and perform regular daily tasks. Many wonder "what will happen to me?" or "what am I going to do now?" Your healing starts with a small first step and that includes reaching out to me for help and support. After that, we will begin talking about your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to get a clearer understanding about you. Depression really hurts but know that it is treatable and curable, and you can feel better. Let's start your healing today.

Life changing events and transitions can cause so many different and uncomfortable emotions to come to the surface. Perhaps there are changes in your family, work, relationships, health or home life. Sometimes these are planned and sometimes they are unexpected but either way, they can bring uncertainty, concern and worry to your life. Learning how to adjust to new situations takes time, understanding, patience and support. I am that person to help you transition to this new part of your life.

This is the starting place for you and your family to approach difficult discussions. We will talk about each family member's understanding of the issue then we will explore your family history and the problem, who has been most and least affected by the problem, repeated patterns and cycles in your family and unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem. We will also look at the different relationships within your family. Teaching effective parenting skills may be a significant part of our work along with teaching effective skills to help manage unwanted behaviors. It's understandable that you and your family may feel uncertain about family therapy. The question is, if you don't start here and start soon, then how much longer will you all have to endure these problems and what are the chances that the issues will be resolved on their own? Anxiety is a part of life but when it interferes with daily life and functioning, it becomes so frustrating. I will teach you how to effectively manage anxiety by identifying distorted and negative thinking which are likely contributing to the anxiety. We'll look at negative thought patterns like jumping to conclusions, overgeneralizing and all-or-nothing thinking that help feed feelings of anxiety and stress. You will learn new ways of thinking and doing to ultimately combat your anxiety.
