About My Clients
I love working with families, individuals, and couples. I offer a safe space for all no matter their sexual orientation, race, spiritual beliefs, or gender expression. <3
My Background and Approach
Hey I'm Jamie! I graduated in 2010 from the University of Georgia School of Social Work, and began my journey as an LCSW when I worked in hospice care. I then continued working with elders as the social services director in a nursing home, but afterwards I shifted my focus to helping children and families in community mental health. When I began working in private practice I was able to broaden my scope and work more with adults individually on a variety of issues: anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, stress management, parenting, family and social issues. We can explore a range of therapeutic processes to support your wellness including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, and brief solution focused therapy, all from a strengths perspective. I love using EMDR to help clients address negative core beliefs and heal from past trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I value our six core beliefs of our code of ethics - Service, Social justice, Dignity and worth of the person, Importance of human relationships, Integrity, and Competence. I want to help anyone who is struggling, even if they are not an "ideal client". I believe every human has strengths and is a multifaceted being. I have a special place in my heart for neurodivergent individuals as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. <3
