About My Clients
My clients tend to be complex. They've typically tried multiple therapies and never quite been able to get the results they were looking for. Coming from a DBT framework, I've worked with clients with a large variety of diagnosis - personality disorders, mood disorder, and substance use/ addiction. At the core of all these diagnosis we tend to find unresolved / untreated traumas.
My Background and Approach
DBT is a multi modal approach to therapy. We incorporate individual sessions + skills instruction + real time coaching to provide all the aspects needed for change to occur. The DBT skills cover Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation & Interpersonal Effectiveness and provide a framework for approaching any situation involving emotions. Individual sessions include process work as well as behavior change planning. Access to me between sessions allows for in the moment skills coaching so that you can effectively implement the skills you are acquiring. We begin by focusing on stabilizing out of control behavior and then move into trauma work after a skills foundation has been laid.
