About My Clients
I use a direct, and affirming approach in order to address forward thinking and support clients in working toward meeting their goals. While it is necessary and significant to address the past, it is also essential to be able to move into the future. Clients should expect to have growth through their own work, and the ability to address sometimes difficult situations and material in order to advance from the good work done through therapeutic gains.
My Background and Approach
Because I have been in this field for almost 10 years I am comfortable working with a vast array of clients and have experience doing so. My experience includes a combination of therapeutic styles and skills that I have built over the past 10 years in many settings focusing on CBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and finding purpose and meaning, as well as mindfulness. I am experienced in trauma /PTSD in addition to individual work as well as couples and family counseling. I received my MSW from FAU, Masters in Public Health from Columbia University and Bachelor’s in Psychology from Duke University. I have designed and developed mental health and substance abuse programs including working with specialized populations such as first responders, Veterans, Native Americans, and professional athletes, but my true passion is in working with individuals. I served as a first responder and EMT prior to working as a therapist and worked in group home for adolescents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have watched the tremendous growth and transformation of hundreds of individuals over the years and been proud to be a part of their journey. While I believe that ultimately the client is the one doing the work, I am always honored to be a part of guiding them toward a healthier and happier life. I look forward to the work I get to do with each client.
