So here you are, looking for a counselor--err, you think anyway. You've been considering it, you've got some stuff you want to work through, but, you're just not sure. Hey, I can't blame you! The idea of counseling, either going for the first time or trying again after a terrible experience can be SCARY! Especially if you are a woman who has dealt with lots of trauma, either from childhood, romantic relationship, or sudden experience out of control. The idea of dealing with it can be paralyzing
My Background and Approach
Ok, so first of all--do you really care about my "credentials," my "modalities" or my "eclectic approach" to your care? No? I didn't think so--I mean, I have all those--I'm full licensed, insured, have training in "evidenced based practice" and always meet people where they are at, but at the end of the day, that really doesn't matter to you does it? What matters most is that you feel comfortable, and that you feel like I can help you. So, when you walk into my office (either live or virtually) what will you get? A friendly, kind, holy jeans, and converse wearing therapist who cares deeply for you and your experience. We will get to the root of what brings you in, we will build a trusting rapport--because thats what matters most. ESPECIALLY if you are a victim of trauma, to work through trauma you need trust, reliability, and a safe, no-judgment zone. And you will get that from me, mixed with some Jesus, cuss words, and laughter! It all goes well together to heal your heart.
