About My Clients

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or simply in need of another support? Parents, young adults and children come to me seeking relief, clarity, new skills and self-acceptance. Often clients come to therapy during or after a major life transition such as divorce, death, relocation, having a child, or a traumatic event. Clients share with me verbally what's going on inside their minds, hearts and bodies, and we use talk, breath work, and occasional "homework" to help gain understanding and tools.

My Background and Approach

The tools that I provide clients come from my belief that we are communal beings deeply impacted by our relationships, beliefs and environment. Growing up in Oakland, California, I was deeply troubled by systemic injustices and found resilience in community, art, nature and therapy. I worked in social justice non-profits on issues related to gender, race and disability, and pursued advanced therapy training in NYC and the Bay Area. My goal for clients is to develop a full-person sense of health, and we will follow your goals and priorities to guide our work together. We will discuss singular issues or challenges in your life (such as loss, relationship issues, anxiety, or life changes), and explore the impacts of these challenges on your mental, physical, social, sexual and/or spiritual well-being. My goal for therapy is to help you find greater ease and connection in all aspects of your life, and for you to reconnect with what brings you meaning, joy and fulfillment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone is inherently strong, knowledgeable and creative, and that we can grow, change and develop new skills at any point in our lives. We are not defined by our traumas. I affirm the rights of each individual to pursue their own most creative and empowered self, and have worked and volunteered in disability adventure programs to help people with all ability levels access the outdoors. I also have worked in female empowerment programs, and focused studies on the intersectional impact of gender, race and income levels in public school settings. I am an outspoken ally for the rights of LGBTQ persons, POC, otherwise underserved communities within the US.
