Accepting Clients

I'm Jamie, a queer transmasculine therapist-in-training finishing my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at NYU Steinhardt.

About My Clients

I am enthusiastic about working with a diverse range of clients. I am dedicated to providing safe and accepting space for queer and transgender clients to both explore their identities and receive information about navigating institutional barriers we often face. Disabled and/or chronically ill clients may also appreciate my familiarity with medical trauma and stigma. Further, clients in non-monogamous relationships would find my space to be safe and free of monogamous assumptions.

My Background and Approach

My views on mental health care are highly impacted by my background in queer theory. I see mental health through a feminist and relational lens, approaching it with an understanding of the way our relationships with ourselves, others, and societal systems impact our well-being. My priority is making the therapy space free of judgement, where clients are able to explore themselves without fear. I value building genuine relationships with my clients, and I utilize humanistic and person-centered principles to allow them to drive our journey together based on their values. By being curious and learning about my clients, I hope to help them learn about themselves too.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
