About My Clients
Are you an adult who is struggling to manage a life transition or a change in role or status? Are you experiencing anxiety or depression that interferes with the quality of life you would like to enjoy? This can be a difficult time to manage when you feel you have no one to talk to or the people you can talk to don't seem to get you. I can be that person who listens and helps you to get back on track with the life you want for yourself.
My Background and Approach
As we work together towards your goals, I will help you to create a toolbox with many different strategies you can use to manage symptoms, change your thinking or communicate effectively depending on the situation. I have been utilizing and teaching mindfulness based practices for more than 25 years and am looking forward to helping you tailor your practices to your own preferences. These practices can help to reduce anxiety, depressive thoughts and/or physical and emotional pain. I have had good success with the use of grounding techniques to be able to respond in stressful situations rather than reacting from a place of defensiveness. When all these strategies are combined, the likelihood of being able to maintain change over time is improved!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My life's strongest core value is that everyone has value and worth and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We all have areas for growth and this does not negate this right. I have used therapy services for myself several times in the past and found it to provide me with opportunities to change the way I think about myself and those in my life. We all have our own quirks, that's what makes life so very interesting and can also make it so very challenging. But never boring. Life is to be embraced and enjoyed together. Learning to love ourselves and others as we are is the beginning to being able to enjoy life.
