I work somatically using the body, its cues and its wisdom to help clients process pain and grief and connect back to themselves and place of safety within. Working somatically additionally supports regulation of the nervous system, the system that is responsible for feelings of safety or fight/flight.
I also work relationally, using the therapeutic relationship to help clients understand how it feels for them to be in relationship and to experience new ways of being in relationship that can translate to outside the therapy room.
I have a number of years of experience and specific supervision working with grief. Not only acute grief as in the death of a loved one or loss of relationship, but the many other griefs that are an inherent part of the human experience, especially unprocessed grief that lives beneath the surface of mental health disturbances.

Traumatic experience is often stored - and stuck - in the body. I have specific training in somatic or body-based psychotherapy which is a wonderful type of therapy to gently address trauma through the body. I have also completed a first level of intensive training for highly traumatized clients.
