About My Clients
Mental wellness is just as important as our physical wellness and it has no doubt been a hard few years for all of us. Whether you are trying to pinpoint you or your child's presenting issue, are feeling in a "funk" or you or your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions or school difficulties, I would be honored to help be a guide to find balance in your life. We all have the potential to grow and find happiness even in the midst of chaos or times of uncertainty.
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate from University of Missouri–St. Louis with a Master’s degree in education for School Counseling and Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Child Life Services and minor in Psychology. I am currently working towards my professional License in Counseling and under supervision. As a former School Counselor and Certified Child Life Specialist, I apply knowledge and experiences in both the education and hospital systems to help with children, adolescents and young adults. I specializes in ages 5 through 25 in areas of anxiety, ADHD, grief, depression, behavior issues, self esteem, medical trauma, life transitions, among other concerns. I have several years of experience navigating the special education system and helping parents and families navigate the challenges of IEPs and 504s. I believe counseling to be a team approach, and one that requires work in and outside the office.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't believe therapy is a one size fits all, so our approach will be based upon goal setting, collaboration, and presenting concerns. I believe that counseling requires work in and outside of the counseling office and requires commitment to personal growth. I am a life long learner and try to stay knowledgeable about current issues and align myself as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and learn and advocate for racial and social justice. My office is a safe space for all and judgement is always withheld.
