About My Clients
While I am open and love working with a wide variety of clients, many of my people are adolescents, young adults, and adults dealing with anxiety, life changes, and cultural issues. I also love working with the LGBTQ+ community, and have helped many explore their identity and feel safe and heard in a nonjudgmental environment. My clients leave sessions with new understanding of their emotions and feel prepared to tackle the scary things in life.
My Background and Approach
My clients and colleagues know me as empathetic, casual, and warm. Typically in the first few sessions, we address primary concerns and start building the necessary skillset to begin tackling those issues, whether that's learning coping skills, building self-esteem practices, or just getting comfortable talking to a new person. I prioritize giving my clients the wheel in our sessions, as I create a space that feels safe to navigate difficult emotions and unpleasant experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone is deserving of love, freedom, and acceptance. As some of a mixed cultural background, member of the LGBTQ+ community, and alopecia warrior, I know how much the world can make us feel small, insignificant, and even loathed. As much as I love sharing coping skills and ways to manage the dark thoughts we all have, I truly believe most people just need to feel heard and understood in a space free of judgement. A message I hold close to heart and share in the therapeutic space is something spoken by Kim Namjoon of BTS in his 2018 UNICEF speech: "What is your name? What excites you and makes your heart beat? Tell me your story. I want to hear your voice, and I want to hear your conviction. No matter who you are, where you're from, your skin color, your gender identity, just speak yourself. Find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself."
