Dr. James has lectured throughout Texas on many counseling topics. Strands of interest include counselor ethics, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, stress management, children of alcoholics, inhalant abuse, substance dependency, grief & bereavement, child abuse & neglect, depression & mania, obsessions & compulsions, bullying, anxiety & phobias, counseling stepfamilies, oppositional & conduct issues, using superheroes as counseling metaphors, and custodial grandparenting.
My Background and Approach
Dr. James received a B.S. in Education at Tennessee Tech University, a M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance at the University of Texas at Brownsville, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Studies at Capella University.
