About My Clients
Maybe you have a hard time saying no, and feel like your needs often get overlooked in relationships. Maybe you were taught that to be accepted by others you should “be nice,” or accommodate to how others are feeling. Despite our best intentions, when we’re unable to express how we really feel or what we really need, it can build up inside, and even look like anxiety, exhaustion, or anger when it has nowhere else to go. Our work together can be to identify where some of these patterns began, see
My Approach to Helping
So many variables factor into how we navigate daily and chronic stress, from trauma, to early relationships and attachments, and even to our physiology. Your story and experiences matter, so we'll move at a pace that feels right to you, and work to affirm, not pathologize. I draw from psychodynamics and existential therapy for a trauma-informed approach.
Why I Became a Therapist
I became a therapist after navigating my own long journey with trauma, and realizing in hindsight all of the hidden ways it was showing up as a barrier in my work, relationships, and life in general. I know what it's like to feel like when you're frustrated and don't know what to try next that might be helpful. But I also know the feeling of empowerment, excitement, and relief that is possible as part of the healing process when we take on responsibility to live in accordance to who we really are deep down.
