About My Clients
Clients reach out to me for a variety of reasons. Often it is stresses of the daily life that lead to anxiety and depression. Although I do work with adults, adolescents, and women - Men's issues tends to be my wheelhouse. My clients often are struggling with relationship & family issues, but don't know how to get out of the rut or the cycles that are causing the damage. Perhaps PSTD, addiction, or stresses of work are barriers to healthy relationships. Therapy can help. You can heal.
My Background and Approach
I have a MA in Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University. Nature-based and Wilderness Therapy continues to be a passion, my main focus has shifted toward working with people who experienced trauma (C-PTSD / PTSD) and it is now affecting their lives to the point they need support. I use a compassionate & mindfulness-based approach to directly allow clients to find the healing, in themselves, they have been searching for - possibly since childhood. The use of EMDR, DBT, and Jungian Shadow work are the main treatment options I provide. Most clients report they are able to get "something huge" out of even just the first session. Gradually through this work, many report being able to let go of addictions and find recovery to step into a life full of freedom. People heal. Relationships grow. Therapy works.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe every human on this planet has a soul purpose, perhaps divine - if I dare to say. Everything we need is within ourselves. The healing, the safety, the grief, the joy; it is all there waiting for us to step into our shadows and find our true Selves. Transpersonal Therapy offers an approach to holistic healing and thriving in this world. Wisdom teachings of the Four Directions, the guidance of nature, and even the food we eat all affects our minds, bodies, emotions, and spirits. We are not our trauma, our anxiety, our depression, or our addiction. Psychotherapy, coaching, depth work, EMDR, and just a good fashioned hug bring us to the connection we have always been looking for - ourselves. It is impossible to have a safe relationship with other people until we become safe within ourselves. Carl Jung wrote, "As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being".
