About My Clients
Have you been struggling for a while, and some days feel like there is nowhere to find rest? Do you find that some days finding hope can be harder than others? While this can be a gloomy place, I believe that by seeking therapy you are seeking light. You are saying that 'I know more exists than this,' and that's what I look forward to helping you discover. What is the thing that provides hope, and drives you forward? Through therapy, you can find some solutions, skills, new ways of thinking.
My Background and Approach
When I began my journey into therapy, I didn't know what type of therapist I wanted to be. I knew I liked listening and helping people, so that's where I started. Throughout my career, I have increased my training and knowledge to serve clients where they are in life. I have received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and a wide range of therapeutic approaches. Through different therapy approaches, we can address topics from anxiety, depression, racial issues, neurodiversity, and trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. This means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. I have learned in my time as a therapist that being open to talking, gaining insight, and addressing barriers to change can lead to a new and more adaptive life.
