About My Clients
I have real experience working with the queer community and with people who have experienced religious trauma, including issues that growing up in the South may have left ignored or handled only inside the church. I also work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I am very passionate about working with the neurodivergent community; the traditional means of treating ADHD doesn't work for everyone.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in South Carolina with a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Psychology from Southern Wesleyan University. My style is more casual and laid back while remaining professional. I believe in creating a space where you can be authentically yourself, and I show up authentically as myself as well. I am person-centered: you are the center. We discuss your treatment goals and what you want out of therapy; you put in the work, and I walk with you on your journey, providing insight along the way. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Therapy, and I keep growing my skills through ongoing research and trainings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am queer affirming, gender affirming, and neurodivergent affirming.
