My Background and Approach
In therapy my collaborative and supportive approach will allow you to draw upon your own strengths to overcome current obstacles and begin to make positive changes in your life. Sometimes, when needed, I can be your sounding board and other times I will provide you with tangible tools to help you when you get stuck so you can make the changes in your life that you are seeking. I am a certified perinatal mental health clinician and specialize in working with parents through the perinatal period (pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and loss). I use evidenced-based therapeutic methods, such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, in addition to family systems theory. I am also trained in the Gottman Method for couple’s therapy.
