About My Clients
I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families in navigating the undeniable impact that adversity, trauma, and stress have on our bodies, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. From our experience of emotion to the ways our brain and nervous system adapt to survive, what has happened in our lives can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
My Background and Approach
My past experiences working directly with children and advocacy for children in various settings led me to pursue a specialization in working with children and families impacted by trauma. I have seen first hand the vast impact of adversity across each facet of development. I have also had the chance to witness the profound impact of connection and relationship in supporting a child’s positive developmental growth and healing from adversity. These experiences inform my approach to counseling that is person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-responsive, and attachment informed principles, grounding in the healing powers of play and relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am dedicated to building trusting and collaborative relationships with not only the children I serve, but the families and systems that surround and hold the child. As a person and counselor, I not only value each child and family’s identity, lived experiences, strengths, neurotype, and culture, but use this understanding to inform the ways I provide support honoring their unique individuality. I am committed to approaching all children and families with a deep curiosity and desire to create a space of safety where they can feel seen, understood, and empowered. I believe there is always more to you than what’s visible on the surface. I understand healing can be hard, but you deserve support that feels steady and affirming. I offer unconditional positive regard and a safe space to simply exist without the pressure to perform. I am with you on this journey, and together we can get there.
