About My Clients
I specialize in working with teens, aged 15-18 years old. I truly love to provide preventative mental health skills and psychoeducation to growing adolescents. Life transitions can be tough, I enjoy working with teens as they age into their 20s as well. I also specialize working with those moving through higher education programs, as well as adults who are aged 60 years and older.
My Background and Approach
I work with many approaches and modalities, finding the best approach for each client and their journey. Some approaches I use are working with Narrative Therapy techniques, Somatic body work techniques, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy tools. I am consistently staying up to date on new approaches and gaining knowledge and education. My goal for therapy is to allow the space for a client to understand their emotions and how they react, find ways to create different approaches if needed, establish attainable goals, and leave with specific tools and skills they can use in their daily lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in approaching my work with an open-minded, social justice centered, and trauma-informed lens. My primary objective is for client's to feel safe in the therapy environment. I believe meeting clients where they are at in their life journey, how they wish to move through their identity, and what they would like to learn while in therapy. I truly believe that if I can impart emotional understanding and education to clients, they can then practice these skills when they encounter the trials and tribulations of life.
