My Background and Approach

With early beginnings in social work I abruptly discovered that I could not be a “helper” without confronting and befriending my own privilege and pain. Slowly, through yoga, I began to listen to the pressures in my own mind and body and learned ways to calm, ground and center myself in the chaos and overstimulation of today's world. I became a registered yoga teacher and pursued a MA in Somatic (mind-body) Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies to further cultivate my embodied awareness, presence and capacity to change from the inside out. Central to my approach as a psychotherapist is honoring our embodied experience as humans and a deep appreciation for the nervous system which underlies all mental health issues. I bring my growing multicultural awareness, training in awareness of white privilege conditioning through the unTraining and appreciation for the context or culture that surrounds and permeates each of us.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in our innate capacity to heal and grow as humans, and that as each one of us becomes more grounded in who we are and conscious of others, we become more resilient and empowered in our communities. I believe that however you identify is unique and beautiful and I respect your way of being in the world.

I have experience with the following
  • Christianity
  • Hinduism
