About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients that are ready for change, and particularly those who are ready to move on from past trauma. I provide a variety of modalities that are client centered, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and mindful self compassion. Clients often see me for issues related to PTSD, phobias, anxiety disorders, and narcissistic abuse recovery. I also enjoy supporting parents of challenging children.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in a variety of areas in mental health, including inpatient psychiatry, addictions, forensics, and case management. I also have experience with developmental disabilities and have worked as an ABA therapist. In each role, I have been passionate about ending the stigma around seeking mental health treatment and helping clients to foster skills, support, and coping in order to move forward. I also use concepts from polyvagal theory in my practice in order to help clients work with their nervous system responses (fight/flight/freeze)and address trauma from a somatic and practical perspective.
