About My Clients
I provide care to adults across California experiencing difficulty managing significant, unexpected life transitions and challenges such as grief and loss, trauma, as well as those struggling with anxiety, worry and stress. I am deeply passionate about helping others understand their own pains and hurts while extending grace and compassion toward whatever you've had to do to get through the hardest times. I am dedicated to holding hope for you until you can hold it on your own.
My Background and Approach
Developing and growing the therapeutic relationship will be at the core of our work together and I am committed to meeting you at whatever life stage and emotional space you are in. I work very collaboratively with my clients because I genuinely believe that you hold the knowledge and wisdom needed to move through difficult situations and emotions. In my work, I try to highlight and reflect back the wisdom and strengths I see within you, and can provide you with tools for broadening this awareness and understanding of yourself. I also utilize therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems (Parts Work), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR. I am committed to you getting the most out of our time together, and am always open to feedback. I regularly ask my clients how sessions are feeling, if things need to be adjusted or modified. The most important part of this work is getting you the support you deserve.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist with a background in social work and social justice, I am dedicated to helping clients expand their awareness of how systems and structures impact their sense of selves and overall emotional health. In my therapy practice, I utilize a compassion-focused, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approach. I honor your story and am sensitive and accepting to the various and valid experiences of trauma and challenges related to physical/sexual trauma, emotional trauma, racial trauma, gender-based trauma, religious/spiritual trauma and complex trauma.
