About My Clients
I aim to help each client navigate difficulties in life by shifting their relationship with themselves, with unpleasant thoughts and feelings, and by engaging in valued action steps that lead clients closer to a life of meaning and purpose. As the saying goes, "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf." Clients who have benefited most from working with me are inquisitive, and willing to try new approaches with the "problem."
My Background and Approach
Jake is a psychotherapist who works with adults 18 and older. Many of Jake’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Trained as a social worker, he strives to meet clients/patients where they're at in a compassionate and attuned way. He is passionate about helping people reduce suffering and increase meaning in their lives. Through exploration and collaboration Jake helps people become aware of patterns and habits that may no longer be serving them well, and which get in the way of realizing their goals. Together, Jake can help you develop new, more effective strategies that move you towards meaningful living. In session, Jake will offer exercises to practice connecting to the present moment, and increase psychological flexibility.
