About My Clients
I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Board-Endorsed LMFT Supervisor, able to assist candidates in their path to Licensure. I like to assist people in dealing with difficult situations that life throws at them. Whether it's an issue at work, at school, or at home- I will be there for you. I have experience with children, teens, and adults in individual, family, couple and group settings. I'm a parent coach, and a spouse coach. Let's solve the puzzle together!
My Background and Approach
As a marriage and family therapist, I tend to see dysfunction in the context of the environment that my clients live in. If we change our input to a system, we can get different output from that system. Be the change you want to see! I keep some no-cost slots on my caseload for military past/present/family members, and a waiting list when those are full. We can solve life's puzzles together, co-create experiences, and bring about lasting change! I can work with you remotely, I look forward to working with you. We can solve life's puzzles together, co-create experiences, and bring about lasting change! I can work with you remotely, using confidential remote-therapy apps. I offer discounts for military past/present/family members, first responders, and other mental health workers. No government insurances accepted at this time. If you leave a voicemail, I will call back promptly.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in treating everyone equitably. I believe in fairness, emotional maturity, morality and in PEOPLE. I am living proof that therapy WORKS. Therapy is a transformative process--by changing the way a person relates to their environment by examining thinking and behavior, we can change the way a person feels gradually. I believe that therapeutic homework, as supported by research like the NCS (National Comorbidity Study), i.e., activities that my clients can do between sessions, which augments and supports their therapy is a HUGE positive outcome predictive factor in therapy. Let's approach the therapeutic problem scientifically, and apply the scientific method to problem solving. Keep in mind, with therapeutic homework, that it's always optional. It's not about being perfectly successful every time--it's about the ATTEMPT. And, I might add, I would never ask a client to do something for therapy homework that I haven't tried myself.
