About My Clients
I recognize and prioritize the intersectionality of identities, pluralistic awareness, and multicultural humility. My approach often blends mindfulness, acceptance, attachment, and cognitive principles where indicated. I work with a lot of neurodivergent people and emerging/young adults; queer folks, and straight folks. I'm dedicated to supporting clients in developing their relationships, self-love, patience, resilience, transitions, & adaptability.
My Background and Approach
My focus includes self-concept & identity development, acceptance, individuation, and relational growth (i.e. finding and maintaining fulfilling partnerships and friendships). I have a background in human development across the lifespan (cognitive, social, and emotional), and am experienced in working with children/adolescents, college students, and adults. Education: BS Brain/Cognitive Sciences, Minors Psychology/Philosophy; MS Education & Human Development; PhD Clinical Psychology, theses in Therapeutic Alliance and Therapeutic Mentorship Modalities. Thus, I can conceptualize through neurological, developmental, relational, & cultural lenses.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work with clients to identify how past experiences, injuries, and relational patterns play into daily struggles and enduring anxiety/depression. We illuminate how certain defenses against the self, others, and the world (which may have once been useful coping/survival mechanisms) may no longer be efficient, and rather generate blockades against self-actualization and relational growth.
