About My Clients

You’ve been holding it together on your own but you are exhausted from the constant worry and never feeling like you’re enough. Sleepless nights, self criticism, and gripping anxiety make sense given everything you’ve been through, but you're ready to find relief and to start caring for yourself as much as you care for others. I specialize in supporting survivors of trauma and childhood abuse, caregivers, and activists who are anxious, exhausted, burned out and ready for change.

My Background and Approach

I help women connect with their inherent resilience, to feel empowered to honor their needs and boundaries, and to overcome the past to find new patterns of relating to themselves and others. Together we can compassionately untangle what it is that gets in the way of living the life you long for and reconnect to a more easeful, connected, and authentic way of being in the world. My approach takes into consideration who you are and what you've been through. I help you connect to your strengths to carefully and effectively process and resolve the imprint of past experiences and allow you to make choices in the present to reclaim your life. Prior to opening my own practice I was the Counseling Director for a nonprofit supporting survivors of sexual assault and I have supported many survivors and activists fighting to end sexual violence and other forms of oppression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I view stress and trauma as being at the root of many mental health challenges. In this context, symptoms are normal nervous system reactions to traumatic or challenging experiences. I believe that taking care of our mental health is not solely an individual’s job, but a collective task. It is essential that we seek to address and transform all of the factors that bring harm in the first place, including interpersonal, social and systemic violence and oppression. I am continuously working on shedding the layers of harmful myths ingested from racist, patriarchal, heteronormative, fatphobic, abelist, individualistic socialization. I will do my best to compassionately keep us accountable when harmful internalized socialization emerges. I honor and respect our human resilience and capacity for healing. I believe everyone has a basic human right to experience safety, belonging and dignity. I hold deep respect for my clients and work towards co-creating a more compassionate world.
