About My Clients
Gosh, life can really feel overwhelming at times, huh? So much so that we begin to feel anxious, worried, hopeless, and stressed. We can lose our sense of direction and at times our sense of self when we feel overcome by these intense emotions. Learning coping skills and ways to manage your emotions can help you to feel more connected to who you want to be, and I'm here to help you navigate through this journey of self-discovery and self-love.
My Background and Approach
I have approximately 15 years experience in the mental health field with 8 of those years serving as a counselor. I believe creating a space that allows you to feel safe to feel heard and seen is of the utmost importance. Developing a therapeutic relationship where you can be authentically you without judgment allows for us to work together towards accomplishing your goals and helps me to better understand how to help you. I take a Cognitive Behavior and Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach which highlights how are thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. We can learn to manage our emotional responses in a more healthy way by increasing our awareness of automatic thoughts and how that influences our emotional experience while at the same time recognizing our humanity and growing in self-love. I also have experience in solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing.
