About My Clients
If you struggle with co-dependence, addictive behaviors, or anxiety disorders, I can help you. Maybe you have low-self esteem, or have a hard time setting boundaries? Maybe your dependence on food, alcohol, or work is creating more conflict in your relationships? You may experience shame and try to stop addictive behaviors but can't because you don't have the right help. I am passionate about my work, and I am here to assist you in your healing journey.
My Background and Approach
I work with my clients to understand how their family of origin and the experiences along their way to adulthood have affected how they think, feel, and act. I use CBT, Family Systems and Mindfulness often, but prefer to tailor sessions to the unique needs of my client. I aim to be structured and walk-alongside my clients on their road to recovery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have always believed relationships are the vehicle for change, however, I understand that developing and maintaining healthy personal relationships is challenging for many. In my quest to understand what makes relationships difficult, I earnestly and honestly reflected on my own challenges to uncover the missing ingredient in my relationships. As I began the hard work of healing from developmental trauma, I realized I did not know the authentic me, or what I wanted and needed for myself and my relationships. Many of my clients find themselves in this same place, overwhelmed, out of control, and desperately seeking freedom. Most who have experienced trauma manage to escape via maladaptive coping mechanisms and compensating behaviors. At some point, these tools turn on us and begin to interfere with our daily living and no longer numb our pain. I believe going back to the place that hurt us holds the key to our healing and transformation.
