About My Clients

Perhaps you are accomplished and dependable, yet privately anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. You may be navigating relationship conflict, betrayal, identity, burnout, or the pressure to remain strong. I work especially well with reflective adults, professionals, Black men and other people of color, immigrants, multicultural and interracial couples, and partners caught in cycles of pursuit, withdrawal, mistrust, or emotional distance.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with graduate training in counseling and a doctorate in public administration. My experience includes clinical practice, behavioral-health leadership, higher education, consulting, and public systems. This helps me understand your concerns both personally and within the relationships, workplaces, cultures, and institutions shaping your life. My approach is relational, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused. Together, we slow recurring patterns, identify what lies beneath your reactions, and turn insight into meaningful change. With couples, I support clearer communication, accountability, trust repair, emotional and sexual intimacy, healthy boundaries, and conversations about culture, identity, autonomy, and commitment. I am compassionate without being passive and challenging without losing sight of your dignity. Our work will be collaborative, honest, and connected to the goals that matter to you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people heal when they are genuinely seen—not reduced to a diagnosis, stereotype, productivity measure, or problem. As a Black Afro-Caribbean therapist and immigrant, I know that wellbeing cannot be separated from culture, race, family, community, power, and the systems through which we move. I care about racial equity, social justice, men's mental health, immigrant experiences, and the effects of systemic oppression. My practice welcomes varied identities, relationships, and ways of being. Therapy can hold tenderness and accountability at the same time; understanding the origins of behavior does not require excusing its impact. I will not assume that I know your story because we share an identity, nor ask you to leave difficult or meaningful parts of yourself outside the room. I want therapy to be a grounded place where you can question inherited expectations, reclaim what feels authentic, and build a life and relationships that are more intentional, reciprocal, and alive.
