About My Clients
Many of us feel we don't have the time to pause and reflect on our journey. However, the story we tell ourselves about our past and present identity impacts us in every moment of the day. I invite you to pause. Take a slow breath in and out. My passion is connecting with people who feel overwhelmed by life's pain, and providing a loving space to simply breathe and begin unraveling our tangled-up thoughts. Let's work together to cultivate compassion, acceptance, healing, and growth.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in life transitions, trauma, perfectionism, and relationship issues. I provide trauma-informed care as a standard. Traumatic stress is often at the root of barriers in life, leaving clients feeling "stuck" and ashamed. Self-compassion is the antidote to shame that I actively seek to nourish using various treatment modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I understand that we all hold on to an inner story formed gradually as we go through life. Sometimes, that story is negative, maladaptive, or untrue. I provide a compassionate space where clients can lay down their anxieties, grief, and pain, as they pursue a path to healing. I collaborate with clients to write a new inner narrative about themselves, rooted in self-compassion. I recognize the centrality of relationships in our life journeys, as healthy relationships can heal those parts of us which unhealthy relationships once ruptured. Mindfulness skills assist in coping with hard emotions along the way. Scheduling: The earliest appointment I offer is 7am, and the latest is 3pm, on weekdays. Insurance: I work with clients to use their Out of Network Benefits— most major insurance companies offer to reimburse 50%-80% of the total session fee. Sliding scale: I have no sliding scale ability at this time.
