About My Clients
We are relational beings, wired for connection, yet sometimes get caught in negative interaction cycles, often driven by the same unmet needs. I help clients uncover underlying unmet needs, emotions, and perceptions and then facilitate a pattern of turning towards instead of away from others. I encourage my clients to do the work that aids the healing process, allowing them to show up in life, for self-connection and nurturing healthy relationships with themselves and others.
My Background and Approach
My education is in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling with an emphasis on Grief, Trauma and Crisis. I have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method to help individuals and couples uncover their underlying pattern of interaction, unmet needs, and how to build a relationship built on trust and commitment. I look at relationships through a developmental instead of a "brokenness" model and help couples see where they may be arrested in their relational development. I also love working with individuals to understand their attachment styles better and move towards a more secure attachment. I am a firm believer in meeting my clients where they are, and caring so much about them to not let them stay there; encouraging growth and movement from that place.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people can change and grow at any time in their lives. I believe growth is possible in adversity, and I also recognize change can be uncomfortable. I think some of the adversity we encounter in life stems from unhealthy behaviors that were modeled along the way. New patterns are possible, and you can be the change in your circle of influence.
