I help those who feel alone, stuck, struggling with mood issues or relationship challenges. I will offer support as you cope with a betrayal, or life transition. I offer compassionate presence if you've suffered a deep loss; death of a loved one, miscarriage, or preganancy loss. I will help you work through the distress from being in career transition or if you are redefineing life as an empty-nester.
My Background and Approach
I view our time together through the lens of emotionally focused therapy for individuals and couples (EFT). Our sessions begin with me seeking to understand your current circumstances. We dig in to some family-of-origin and relationship history to get a sense of the beliefs and values you hold for your life. I want to hear how you see this current distress may have begun and how it's affecting you.
My calm demeanor and empathic presence offers you a confidential, nonjudgmental space to share your concerns. I have post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Bereavement and Expressive Art.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an LGBTQIA-affirming, secular therapist, I welcome racial, ethnic, and religious diversity.
I keep current with the leading psychotherapy perspectives to work with developmental trauma, attachment injuries, adverse childhood experiences, and complex grief. I incorporate techniques associated with mindfulness, healing shame, and self-compassion.
