About My Clients
I have a strong passion for helping individuals facing anxiety and depression, and I understand the struggles people go through to maintain their daily functioning. I have a particular interest in complex trauma, juvenile justice, reducing recidivism in minority communities, infertility, and women’s issues, recognizing the unique and sensitive nature of these concerns. I am also AutPlay-trained and certified, and I work with individuals who benefit from this approach.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC in Colorado; also licensed in Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington) with a Master of Science from Walden University, and I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Walden University’s PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program. I specialize in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address and combat negative thinking patterns associated with anxiety and depression. I am trained in play therapy and actively working toward certification as a play therapist. I have been part of a research and scholarly speaking team of Walden University doctoral students accepted to present at the 2024 Black Mental Health Symposium and the 2024 Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision conferences, and I co-authored the chapter "Cultivating Compassion: Navigating the Depths of Cultural Self-Awareness in Counseling Training and Education" in the textbook Culturally Sustainable Counseling Curricula in Online Higher Education.
