About My Clients
Many of my clients have spent years showing up for everyone else while quietly carrying stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. They often find themselves responding to situations in ways they don't fully understand or repeating patterns they thought they had moved beyond. Together, we explore how family experiences, relationships, cultural messages, and learned ways of coping may be influencing their lives today, so they can move forward with greater
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), and hold a PhD in Developmental Psychology. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I understand that meaningful change rarely happens by simply trying harder. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I use EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, and make intentional shifts that align with their values and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a proud African American clinician and Oakland native, I understand the impact that family, community, culture, and life experiences can have on how we view ourselves and navigate the world. My experiences inspired a commitment to helping others explore their stories with curiosity rather than judgment. Therapy works best when it is built on trust, connection, and collaboration. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you increase self-awareness, recognize your strengths, and create meaningful change in your life.
