About My Clients
Feeling stuck? Depressed? Anxious? Feel like nobody really gets what you're going through? I can help. My goal is to empower you to take charge of your mental health. I believe that everyone has what they need inside of them. Sometimes it just needs a little help to come out. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, positive embodiment/self-image struggles, self-esteem issues, and coping skills.
My Background and Approach
I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbus State University, a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from GA-PCOM, and a Bachelors in Biology with a minor in Religion from Emory University. I've worked with individuals age 3-65 in different capacities and environments. I have experience with a wide range of mental health struggles. I pull from various counseling theories to find what fits because therapy isn't one size fits all. I am supportive and direct. I'm caring and will call you out if necessary. I bring humor into session when appropriate and am known to be sarcastic. I will give homework to go with what we talk about in session. I believe in collaboration and welcome feedback. If something isn't working, tell me. I am a first-generation child of immigrants and understand the challenges of identifying with two cultures. I incorporate inclusivity and cultural sensitivity into my practice and welcome clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and all need nourishment and care. I believe that caring for one aspect can positively impact the others. I value authenticity and bring my true self to my sessions so as to create a space that allows my clients to feel comfortable being their authentic selves as well. I believe that therapy isn't just for when something is wrong. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy. I believe that therapy is a safe space to learn about yourself and practice loving yourself unconditionally.
