About My Clients
I don't know if there is an ideal client, but I do know I love it when my clients practice their skills learned in sessions outside of our sessions. A large part of therapy, besides talking, is learning new skills and techniques to combat the problems or struggles you face. I will give you the tools to face your struggles and problems; however, it is your job to use them.
My Background and Approach
I have over a decade of experience as a Family-Based Therapist and Outpatient setting working with children, adolescents, and their families. I am competent in crisis intervention and have attended various trainings on suicide prevention, self-harm, depression/anxiety, and emotional disturbance. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens through collaboration. In our work together, you are the expert on your own life, and I am here to guide you toward the outcomes that feel right for you. During our first few sessions, we'll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss any previous assessments or treatment history, and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. What makes my practice distinctive is my integration of mindfulness and somatic approaches with traditional therapeutic modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about this work because I believe deeply that everyone deserves to feel belonging, acceptance, validation, and to be heard. I strive to be that person for you... a non-judgmental presence where you can bring all of your emotions, great and small. Together, we form a team dedicated to finding solutions that work for your life, honoring your experiences while moving toward greater well-being and resilience. I specialize in trauma-informed care, which means I understand how past experiences shape present struggles and create a safe, empowering space for healing. I'm also LGBTQ+ affirming and deeply committed to creating therapy that honors all aspects of who you are. Whether you're navigating identity, relationships, past trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, my goal is to help you move from just surviving to actually thriving.
