About My Clients
I specialize in couples therapy, mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as trauma-related disorders. I have advanced training in EMDR and Emotion Focused Therapy. My approach is bespoke to each client based on their needs, strengths, goals, and complex sense of self/identity, and I enjoy working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and couples. Whether it's relationship distress, PTSD, existential issues, anxiety, depression, life adjustments, or grief, I am here to help.
My Background and Approach
I have worked both in community mental health and psychiatric care settings providing individual, couple, and group counseling since 2016 in both English and Spanish.I see therapy as an explorative and collaborative process focused on self-awareness and self-compassion, a journey that illuminates roadblocks to well-being so individuals can imagine, attain, and sustain meaningful lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach to therapy reflects my individual values and belief systems. I recognize the complex systemic forces that shape us and how we navigate the world, such as system racism, sexism, homophobia/transphobia, and antisemitism. Mental health does not exist in a vacuum, as there are historical, socioeconomic, and political contexts that have profound impact on our psychological experience. Personally, I am engaged in a perpetual process of unlearning my own biases and reckoning with the intersections of my identity. Professionally, I strive to practice within a liberated framework wherein folks can reflect upon and honor their system for understanding the world and the contextual factors that influence them to make possible the process radical healing, where unique strengths are harnessed to thrive and become whole in the face of multiple oppressions.
