About My Clients
Does your child melt down over homework, struggle to make friends, or seem to feel everything so big? Are you worried their anxiety, ADHD, autism, or learning differences are getting in the way of their confidence and learning? You don't have to figure this out alone. I help children build the emotional and self-regulation skills to navigate school, friendships, and home—at their own pace, in a warm, non-judgmental space—and I partner with you so the support continues at home.
My Background and Approach
Your child will leave our work with real, usable tools—ways to name big feelings, calm a racing body, and move through frustration without falling apart. I'm a registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT #160630) with five years supporting children's emotional and social development, both inside schools as an academic coach and in clinical practice with children and families. That classroom experience means I understand how anxiety, ADHD, autism, and learning differences actually show up in a child's day—in focus, friendships, and confidence. Your child gets more than me: I practice under the supervision of Paula Kettula, LCSW—26 years in child and family therapy, play therapy, and sandplay, plus an AMI Montessori teaching diploma. I meet each child where they are—drawing on play, CBT-informed, narrative, solution-focused, somatic, and mindfulness approaches—and partner closely with you so progress carries into home and school. Sessions in English and Spanish.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe no two people are the same — we're all like snowflakes, each with our own design — so there's no reason therapy should look the same for everyone. I meet each person where they are, and I don't see my clients as broken or in need of fixing. I believe we all have the capacity to build resilience, learn new tools, and grow, whatever we're facing. I have a special love for working with children and families. I've been surrounded by kids my whole life — from my mom's daycare to helping raise my younger siblings — and I believe that when children learn coping skills early, it sets them up for a lifetime of success that can ripple outward to strengthen our communities and future generations. Above all, I believe in advocacy — helping the people I work with learn to advocate for themselves. Therapy is a journey, and whether you need someone to truly listen or practical tools for everyday life, I'm here to walk alongside you. If you'd like to learn more, send me a message.
