My training from the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute, under the direction of Dr. Ricky Greenwald, has prepared me to work with individuals of different ages, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. That being said, I choose to mainly work with adults in this area, do to that being the main portion of the population that I work with. Although I mainly practice face to face in my primary settings, I have been trained to do this virtually.

For the past few years, I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with court mandated clients on probation to address maladaptive cognitions leading up to their offense. I have also utilized CBT at another location with clients struggling with anxiety. With both of these locations, I utilized CBT under the direction of supervision.

With anxiety we can treat the client with CBT by identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, reducing fear responses, and developing effective coping strategies. DBT complements this by teaching mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills to help individuals manage anxiety in the moment. Together, CBT and DBT empower clients to face anxiety more confidently, reduce overwhelming feelings, and build long-term resilience.

With depression we can treat this with CBT by addressing negative thought patterns and replacing them with healthier, more balanced perspectives. CBT helps break the cycle of hopelessness. DBT adds emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance skills, enabling individuals to cope with difficult emotions and stay grounded. Together, CBT and DBT help individuals manage depressive symptoms, build emotional resilience, and improve overall well-being.
