About My Clients
My people are often high-functioning on the outside but exhausted on the inside. Many carry childhood trauma, relational wounds, or painful experiences they've never fully processed. They may struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, shame, or feeling disconnected from their bodies and relationships. Some have tried talk therapy before and felt stuck. They're ready for deeper, lasting change and want a therapist who understands how trauma lives in the nervous system.
My Background and Approach
Like many therapists, I came to this work after years on the couch healing my own trauma. That experience shapes everything about how I show up for clients. I'm an LPC-S, LMFT-S, perinatal mental health certified (PMH-C), and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I founded Moving Parts Psychotherapy in Austin in 2017 and now lead a team of trauma-informed clinicians. My approach is somatic, relational, and grounded in safety, curiosity, and connection. Drawing on IFS, EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, I help you get to know the parts of you that learned to survive and gently support your nervous system toward regulation. I believe healing happens through connection, not correction. We'll go at a pace that feels right, honoring your whole story and identity. My work is also shaped by motherhood and my passion for trauma education, and I bring warmth, honesty, and a bit of playfulness into the room.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Outside the therapy room, I'm passionate about making trauma education accessible to everyone. I share free resources on social media to help normalize trauma survivors' experiences and build more understanding in our communities. I lead consultation for other clinicians, because I believe no therapist should do this work in isolation. I'm committed to affirming, inclusive care, and I want clients of every identity and background to feel fully seen here. I'm a mom, and my kids remind me daily of the healing power of presence and playfulness. I've also spent years in therapy myself, so I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out. If you're looking for a therapist who is human, honest, and deeply invested in your healing, I'd love to connect.
