About My Clients
Have you cycled through therapists, struggling to feel connected? Have you wondered how a therapist’s identities show up in counseling or felt misunderstood when identity wasn’t acknowledged? If yes, you deserve a therapist who sees who you are before any symptom or struggle. In our work, your identities will be recognized and considered alongside your concerns, because who you are shapes how you experience the world.
My Background and Approach
My focus is on understanding the root causes beneath challenges with mood, emotions, spirituality, and overall well-being. I do not reduce you to a diagnosis or pathology; your symptoms inform my work, but they never define you. In our sessions, I view you as a whole person, not just the struggles you carry. My approach is grounded in person-centered care and shaped by neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQ+-affirming, and trauma-informed practices. I place great emphasis on fostering an environment that respects and supports your identities, lived experiences, and ways of being. My work is rooted in evidence-based techniques, and I stay current with emerging research (both as a clinician and as an active researcher) so that the care you receive is informed, ethical, and effective.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQ+, Latinx, and Asian communities, and I work closely with Black and other BIPOC communities. I also serve in volunteer leadership roles to ensure underserved voices are represented and to advocate for greater accessibility and equity through both professional channels and state and national policy work. Advocacy is central to my professional identity. I take pride in promoting equity within the therapeutic space, collaborating with healthcare providers, and advancing mental health access at broader legislative levels. My commitment is to expand care for marginalized and underserved populations.
