About My Clients
It is always my goal and intent to approach every session from a compassionate and empathetic place. I believe that everyone is worthy and capable of finding peace, balance, and healing, it is my passion to help people find their way. I strive to help people identify their strengths, values and goals, and work to build achievable milestones in and outside of their sessions.
My Background and Approach
I was born and raised in Arizona, residing in the Phoenix area since 2001 when I commenced my undergraduate work at Arizona State University. I completed her Master’s degree in Counseling in 2008 from The University of Phoenix and have remained a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona over the past 12 years working as an individual, group, and family therapist for diverse populations. I have worked to assist with various presenting issues; specializing in helping families and adolescents with trauma, family conflict, sexual problematic behaviors, LGBTQ, sexual abuse, and mood management. Other areas of competency include; depression, anxiety, ADHD, parent/child reconnection, adolescent adjustment, healthy relationships, boundaries, improved self-esteem and conflict resolution. My practice philosophy centers in providing a safe place to empower clients, building on their strengths to collaboratively attain their desired goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in a positive and strengths based approach, utilizing various systemic approaches and a variety of therapeutic strategies such as Mindfulness-based Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
